Lopamudra Mitra, daughter of Late Pranab Mitra and Sumita Mitra, is presently the most popular contemporary Bengali singer. After starting her music education with her father, Lopamudra studied various forms of vocal music with a number of renowned musicians including  Rita Roy, Arun Badhuri, Sukumar Mitra, Subhas Chowdhury, Subinoy Roy and Aurobindo Biswas. Armed with this versatility in styles, Lopamudra experimented with Bengali modern music, and her current success stems from songs based on poems by celebrated Bengali poets

Lopamudra has won many awards for her unique dramatic style of singing, including the prestigious Bengal Film Journalist Award and ZEE MUSIC AWARD. In addition to her extensive performing career in India, Lopamudra has also performed in  U.S.A., U.K., Canada, Singapore, Australia, Hongkong, Kuwait and Qatar.
