Three performance venues within the Ishanya campus will be used to stage over forty performances by a wide range of artistes. The evening performances on all three days of the festival will be staged at the Amphitheater, while the day long performances will be staged on two venues called Jalsaghar and Aangan on February 11 and 12, 2012 respectively. Check the Schedule for timings and further details.

All the performances at the Baajaa Gaajaa festival are open to music lovers and are not ticketed. However, please collect passes from selected venues (to be announced shortly) for the evening performances.

“Dhamaal”, the special drum and percussion concert curated by Aneesh Pradhan, and scheduled at Baajaa Gaajaa 2012 on February 12, 2012 will include drummers from Manipur. The participation of Manipuri artistes Sanjoy Singh, Ranbir Singh, Sunder Singh and Nilachandra Singh has been facilitated by Anjika Society for Manipuri Dance and Movement Therapy in Kolkata, founded by eminent artiste Priti Patel.

DHAMAAL is a celebration of drumming traditions from India and other musical cultures.  Folk drummers from various parts of the country collaborate with
other percussionists, vocalists and guitarists, to weave a tapestry of rhythm.  Each group of drummers brings to the collaboration the special language and technique that is associated with their instruments.  Dhamaal features Dilip Das and group (Kolkata), Manipuri drummers from Anjika, Ramanbaug dhol-tasha pathak (Pune), Shahir Azad Naikawadi kala pathak (Kolhapur), Punjabi dhol players (Pune), Haridas Shinde and group (Alandi), Ben Walsh and Bobby Singh (Australia), with vocalist Avadhoot Gandhi (Alandi), guitarist Max Clouth and bassist Marc-Inti Mannel Saavedera (Germany) and others.  The concert is curated by tabla player Aneesh Pradhan and the ambience has been designed by the fashion icon Sabyasachi.

At Baajaa Gaajaa 2012 music lovers will be able to enjoy concerts by a wide range of artistes performing diverse forms of Indian music on multiple stages.
 
Performances will be scheduled at the following venues in Ishanya:

• Open Stage 1at Jalsaghar (Entrance Arcade) : from approximately 11 am to 5 pm every day on Feb 11 and 12, 2012, with a break for lunch between 1 and 3 pm. Entry to these concerts is free. Watch this space for performance schedules, which will be added shortly. Seating: Indian baithak, some chairs, stand-around.
